Eigentlich geht der Trend in Sachen Mixtapes ja immer mehr in Richtung Free Download. Einer der wenigen Künstler, der sich nun dazu entschieden hat, sein Mixtape nicht als Gratis Download zur Verfügung zu stellen, ist der G-Unit Rapper Tony Yayo.
Er hat sich kurzerhand dazu entschieden, sein neues Mixtape "Gunpowder Guru", das als Vorbote auf sein neues Album dienen soll, auf Amazon und[inku] iTunes digital zu vertreiben[inku]. Grund dafür ist unter anderem die positive Resonanz auf sein aktuelles Video "Bullets Whistle", das man sich hier ansehen kann.
"It's coming out now, available on Amazon, iTunes and all these other places -- we're rushing to put it out because of the reaction I got to my new video 'Bullets Whistle.' Shout-out to ThisIs50.com. Gunpowder Guru coming out in the next 48 hours."
Das Mixtape enthält insgesamt 10 exklusive Tracks, die laut Yayo einen düsteren Style haben sollen.
"I got a joint called 'Murder,' then 'Southside' where I'm shouting out cats like [DJs] Grand Master Vick and Doggtime. I got a joint with my artist Louis Castro. The next joint I'm gonna come with is 'Back Against the Wall.' It's a dark vibe. When I seen 50 did the War Angel, it was dark. I took the same vibe."
